Riccardo Spagni

Lead Dev, Monero

Riccardo “fluffypony” Spagni is lead maintainer and one of the seven core developers of Monero (ticker: XMR), a cryptocurrency designed to provide advantages of both cash, e.g. fungibility and anonymity, as well as crypto, e.g. digital storage and fast, secure transactions anywhere in the world. As of June 2017, Monero’s market cap is one of the ten highest of all crypto-currencies, having shot up from about $11,000,000 to over $600,000,000 in a year. Monero’s technology protects the privacy of a Monero sender, receiver, or transaction amount. Spagni has vast knowledge of crypto technology, is a generous knowledge-contributor to the Monero Research Lab and communities that advance awareness and implementation of crypto worldwide, and an authority on reasons privacy is an essential requirement for the viability of any crypto-currency. He lives in Plettenberg Bay, a coastal resort area on South Africa’s Garden Route. In his scarce spare time, he does things like collect watches, play with LEGO, build and fly drone-multicopters, set a lavish dinner-table for six (dogs), and get happily married to the love of his life.
