Founder and CEO, Netki
Justin Newton is the founder and CEO of Netki (www.netki.com), a company whose suite of services lets businesses move their blockchain applications from the lab into production. Netki’s flagship product, Digital Identity, enables regulated entities to use public and private blockchains in identity management for such procedures as onboarding, risk management, and compliance. Newton was a pioneer of both the internet and blockchain, and played a key role in their early histories, including serving as one of the few people who worked on the development and adoption of standards for the internet (RFCs) and bitcoin (BIPs). His last four companies—AboveNet, NetZero/United Online, Demand Media, and Blackline Systems—all launched IPOs that achieved financing of over $1 billion. Newton also founded the first trade association for ISPs and, as the organization’s public policy director, he worked with the U.S. Congress to protect online anonymity, fight spam, create the Internet Tax Moratorium, and protect network neutrality. He currently serves on the Industry/Law Enforcement Portal Working Group of the Blockchain Alliance and the State Legislative Working Group of the Chamber of Digital Commerce. He is also on the Board of Directors for Adra Software.
