Jed McCaleb is co-founder and CTO of Stellar, a universal financial platform that connects banks, payment systems, and people, and is supported by the nonprofit Stellar Foundation. The Stellar platform (currency: lumen, ticker: XLM) makes it possible to conduct secure international money transfers and currency exchanges for very low fees, almost instantaneously. McCaleb also founded Ripple in 2012 and was the original creator of Mt.Gox, the world’s first major Bitcoin exchange. McCaleb holds a prominent role as a leader in the evolving history, development, and worldwide adoption of cryptocurrencies, and continues his work to help repair today’s global financial infrastructure by building decentralized systems and other technology that democratize economic participation and improve human life.
